I would love for Sony to allow EX1 users to opt for the rear press-and-roll selector to change frame rate as opposed to being a superfluous duplicate to the joy stick. Does anyone actually use the roller for selection? This would seem possible via firmware, and in my mind would nearly perfect this awesome little camera.

You mean live frame rate change? Thats one of those too good to be true things :) But for now I do this by shooting 60fps and then changing frame rate in post. I dont think Ive ever used the roller.

Hi Sami,
Live would be great, but won't happen. No, I meant for over/undercrank without menu diving. Strangely enough, of all the features on the EX3, this is the only one that turned me a bit green.

Same here. The external frame rate button is gold. Would be great if a Firmware update to the EX1 could do as you say.
