Hopefully in a couple of years you'll hear different from me. Mark Holmes November 27th, 2005, 05:27 PM 37...and just began visiting this site again after a year or so off it. It seems to have grown considerably. And, yes, middle aged, but just beginning a new career in video with a few shorts and one feature under my belt. Glenn Thomas November 30th, 2005, 05:40 AM 33 here... One of the Star Wars generation who grew up watching those films as a kid. Chris Rees December 5th, 2005, 12:58 PM hi everyone. i have the mental age of an embryo but unfortunately the years have switched to fast forward, and before i new it 1967 was a long time ago. but having the mental age of a chunk of DNA i can't count so my age must be 21. i think? Karl J Martin December 5th, 2005, 01:46 PM Hmm... I'm Model Year 1967, too. Makes us...38, I think. Naw, that can't be right. Rick Steele December 5th, 2005, 03:41 PM 48 here. It’s not so bad really. It seems I’m now allowed to have unscheduled bouts of flatulence in public, wear clothing from the seventies, say really stupid things and of course embarrass my children with all the above. Rick (turning into his father) Steele Joshua Jezioro December 5th, 2005, 03:56 PM 16, will be 17 in February. Ashley Hosking December 10th, 2005, 09:16 PM I am actully 17 but my birthday is this month so I'm calling my self 18 :P Josef Heks December 10th, 2005, 09:33 PM Ive been into film since as early as I can remember, but I only started doing it about a year ago. Im 18 now, but I sorta wish I started earlier - Spielberg made his first (home) feature at 16, and Rodriguez had made about 30 short films by my age...so I think I really need to get started! Bradley D Barber December 16th, 2005, 01:34 PM I am 30 ad my wife is 28 the rest of our company are in their early 20's so that forces both of us to stay abreast of the things we said we would never hate but do! Gene Beasley December 16th, 2005, 05:07 PM Cool - not the oldest for once. -- 50. I still get carded though. Guess that's not saying much anymore. Shervin Mandgaryan December 17th, 2005, 07:29 PM Am I the only youngin' here? I'm 17 Karl J Martin December 19th, 2005, 05:08 PM I'm 36 and Manx (born and bred on the Isle of Man) www.phatmanfilms.com Does that mean you're tail-less...? Vincent Croce January 24th, 2006, 02:04 PM The Chevy Belair wasn't the only great thing made in 1955...50 years old here (a couple of months from 51) and love my video toys. But I'm not too old to learn a bunch of good stuff from you young'uns! So did anyone calculate the average age here? Must be about 30 or so... Vin Steve McDonald January 24th, 2006, 02:57 PM The Chevy Belair wasn't the only great thing made in 1955...50 years old here (a couple of months from 51) and love my video toys. But I'm not too old to learn a bunch of good stuff from you young'uns! So did anyone calculate the average age here? Must be about 30 or so... Vin Now, this is being very picky and I might even be wrong about it, but I seem to remember that the Chev Belair wasn't introduced until 1956. They brought out their new, modern look and their first V-8 in 1955, but I don't recall a Belair among the model names. That extraordinary Nomad wagon got its start in 1955, however. For those of us from this era, these fine points of trivia are of the utmost importance. After all, what else did we have to discuss? There were no camcorders, no computers or video games, no portable music or phones and free love hadn't been invented yet. I challenge anyone under the age of 40 to tell how you distinguish a '55 Chev V-8 from a 6-cylinder model (without looking under the hood). Lorinda Norton January 24th, 2006, 03:54 PM All I remember about the Belair is my sisters teasing my older brother about his "station wagon" and him saying it had a great compartment for concealing a cooler full of beer. :) Jeff Tyler January 24th, 2006, 03:55 PM Am I the only youngin' here? I'm 17 Im also 17 Steve Shilson January 24th, 2006, 05:54 PM 18 years. mmm hmmm (had to ass that mmm hmmm to make it to 10 characters) haha Vincent Croce January 24th, 2006, 07:02 PM No, Steve, you weren't being picky about it, but you were wrong. Chev introduced the '55 Bel Air in '54 with the V8, fins, hooded headlights and everything. They did shorten it for '57, which made the fins stand out even more. Now, how DO you tell a '55 Chev V8 from the 6 without lifting the hood? Steve Madsen January 24th, 2006, 09:29 PM 32, though mistaken by girl at work today for a 22 yo. Late starter in this game, but I haven't given up acting aspirations just yet :) Thanks for the jeans, Mum. Nick Weeks January 24th, 2006, 09:44 PM 23, computer-guy turned video-guy I work with PCs all day, and I'm starting to get into the professional side of video production. I'm starting my own business on the side, wish me luck..... Brandon T Jackson January 27th, 2006, 01:10 AM I'll be 21 this March. Steve McDonald January 27th, 2006, 11:03 AM No, Steve, you weren't being picky about it, but you were wrong. Chev introduced the '55 Bel Air in '54 with the V8, fins, hooded headlights and everything. They did shorten it for '57, which made the fins stand out even more. Now, how DO you tell a '55 Chev V8 from the 6 without lifting the hood? OK, I am corrected about the year of the first Belair. The '55 V-8s were distinguished from the 6s, by two very small, chrome Vs, right below the taillights. They had the same Chev brand badge in the centers of the trunk and engine hoods, on both V-8s and 6s. Beginning in '56, this badge was used only on the 6s, with large, chrome Vs on both hoods, on the V8s. Classify this as information as close to being useless as is possible-----on a par with knowing how to tell a '58 T-Bird from a '59, without looking underneath at the springs. James Challenger February 1st, 2006, 08:58 AM Well, I remember well my first look at a video camera in my hands.....back to 1989, a Sony Hi8 V-5000.....heavy! I guess I should start doing something with this life of mine ;) Andrew Todd March 6th, 2006, 09:21 AM I was sailing last July and ended up in Boston for my 20th birthday. Yes it was absolutely the worst birthday ever becuse your (im referring to you americans) country says im too young to drink a beer.. when i used to be in quebec i turned legal age 2 years before when i was 18.. i was very dissapointed..and had to spend my birthday drinking in the bar on my ship that i had been stuck in fo the past month.. but to make up for it 10 days later we were in st. john's, newfoundland on george street which has the most bars per capita than any other city in the world. George street ... bar after bar after bar after bar after bar..etc... come to canada.. see the sites... and george street Alan Craven March 6th, 2006, 10:20 AM 63 3/4, in Adrian Mole terms. Brendan Marnell March 6th, 2006, 01:25 PM A whoppin' 24 years. Most of my friends are over 40. Is that a good sign? Some research might help: Try singing "You make me feel so old, etc" Note their reactions. Then try "I make you feel so young" and compare reactions. But then perhaps you're not old enough to have heard Dean or Frank or Bing singing at all. Silly me, sure they're probably not old enough either. Bob Koza March 8th, 2006, 09:27 AM I thought I was 58 my last birthday. My wife said I was 59. She's right. Come to think of it, 57 seemed to last a couple of years.
