Good for you, Jacqueline, and Welcome!

I suspect that your experience in another visual medium will serve your creative inspiration in videography well, perhaps in unexpected ways.

Alas, I've been around long enough to say that I knew Robert K.S. way back when he was but a young lad, not yet out of high school. If that doesn't qualify me as an old fart, I don't know what does.

It's a sobering thought that when Mozart was my age he had been dead for 16 years.

Hi my name is Fred Garhart and I live in Calgary. I am twenty years old and I will be turning twenty one on June 2. I have just received my new professional Panasonic PV-DV953 camcorder and it is my first camcorder. I really like this place. Everyone is nice and helpful and there is so much to read. Have a great day!

This is what I tell my friends: Bernard Baruch-
To me, old age is always fifteen years older than I am.

This is what I tell myself: Edith Wharton-
It spite of illness, in spite even of the archenemy sorrow, one can remain alive long past the usual date of disintegration if one is unafraid of change, insatiable in intellectual curiosity, interested in big things, and happy in a small way

Forty years and one week today. Time flies when you're having fun.

(Note to self: Think about having a little less fun from now on)

Ken, you'll have to make an adjustment. My birthday is today, so I'm 47.

Thanks, Ken--it's nice to know that the 40+ crowd is still "above average." :)

Andre, would you care to elaborate on your post? I'd like to hear more of the story.

And Jeff--Happy Birthday !!!!

Hey, Jeff, Happy Birthday!

Aw, now I have to adjust the whole darn spreadsheet.

Andre De Clercq

Lorinda, there is nothing special to the story. I have not been found somewhere in the bushes..but I believe we were all " too young" when we were born to be sure of our birthday. We have to believe what our environment tells us.

Happy birthday, Jeff! Just wondering...how are you be able to photograph wildlife, with all your camera setup, and manage a walker at the same time?

Jeff Donald
January 5th, 2004, 06:38 AM
I gave up the walker at 45, John. Now I make my students with a C or worse average push me in my wheelchair.

That's so true, Andre--a concept I hadn't considered. It's entirely possible that your parents conspired with hospital staff, etc. to falsify your birth records and conceal the truth. Probably happens all the time.

I just turned 56, and I believe I'm just getting started on a whole new thing.

I started my cinema verite/documentary/commentary website about a month ago, and I expect that it's going to be going for a long time.
