I just received the new tripod and head. Apparently i overlooked a detail and there's an adapter missing, because the threaded 'tightener' for clamping the head to the tripod fits right through the hole.

If anyone is deciphering this spaghetti and can point me toward a part or name of a part, I'd really appreciate it. Or, worst case, I'll just buy a 2" washer at the hardware store.

OK, you probably knew this, but the washer idea prevents the ball from swiveling, effectively eliminating the leveling feature.

I ran into this when I bought a Cartoni Laser and Solos. Cartoni makes a large diameter tie-down that works perfectly.
I'm not sure if this is Cartoni's part number, but it's in the Abel Cine inventory as:

CA-D514 "Large Tie Down for F100 Head"
