Like to creat something with dark feathered corners. I tried the cookie cuttter but it doesn look that nice.. looking for a soft look. How can I do it?

I sometimes use a gaussian blur on the feathered edge cookie cutter element and enlarge it as needed to get the desired effect.
Hope this helps.

Some ideas:

1] Border FX and use the Blurred edge. Not quite 4 corners

or

2] Masking in Pan/Crop and set up 4 corners.

or

3] Create a MASK in a graphics package with a transparent central portion, import and place on track ABOVE footage

or

4] Set up 4 corners on 4 separate tracks

or

5] Create a REAL optical vignette IN-Camera and import a still of that and Chroma Key-out middle

or

. . . .

THE thing with Vegas is I can try out masses of stuff very fast. Don't like 'em? I move on

I believe you can also just use one of the first releases of the Sony EX-1 ;-)

what about using a color gradient set to elliptical and use it as a mask?

I will try the gaussian blur and mask overlay in PS CS3.0 if need be.
