I am assuming that any camera that handles HDV footage can capture Xh-A1 footage?

This does not include the ACVHD cameras or whatever that codec is, right?

And any SD camera will capture footage shot on XH-A1 in SD correct?

Will a PANASONIC SD Camera be able ot get 24F/30F and 60i footage into Premiere Pro? (I'm assuming a drop down is included when thew camera is put to tape just like in other cams)

as far as i know if you shoot in 60i any hdv camera can be used as a deck. if you shoot in either of the 24f or 30f rates then the only cameras/decks that can read this format is the canon hv10, hv20, hv30, as well as the xh-a1/g1 and the xl-h1.

I shoot both a Canon A1 and a Sony HC1 and dump into my NLE via a Sony M15U deck, both cams have no issue dumping standard 60i into the PC.

As Rob said 60i and 50i will play via any HDV cam. 'Frame' mode will only play via Canon cameras

HV20/30 can be used as playback deck. It can playback 60i, 30F and 24F recorded in A1.
