View Full Version : Maintaining Audio Pitch in FCP

Hi,

I'm new to FCP, coming from Premiere Pro, and if I slowed down an audioclip in PPro, I had a checkbox where I could tell the program to maintain the audio pitch. In that way I had fast or slow audio, without all the crazy sounding voices.
Can anyone help me with doing the same in Final Cut Pro?
I hope I don't have to send it specially to Soundtrack Pro for such a simple thing?

Best regards,

As far as I know, without additional plug-ins Soundtrack Pro is the only way...

Sorry!

This really sucks with FCP although there is a filter under audio filters called AU Pitch. You have to adjust the pitch +/- until it sounds about right, eventually you will get it but it is a royal pain in the ass.

This chart (done by myself!) was publish in Larry Jordan's newsletter a while back. Maybe it'll help you... (I've tried on PAL, maybe it'll work on NTSC too)

Good Luck!
