Be aware that FCP has a very annoying issue in dealing with HDV.

During the "Log and Capture" of HDV from your camera you can not listen to the audio when previewing for scene selections. This is not an issue with DV, just HDV.

This seems to more or less important based on your personal tastes, but if you are used to editing DV and are moving to HDV be prepared for some annoying issues like this.
