Hello,
How difficult would it be to have a laptop serve as a preview monitor and an HD-SDI aquisition recorder?
I know this does not exist now, but is it possible?
When I look at the Convergent Designs CF card HD-SDI recorder and many folks using LCDs as preview monitors, the best case scenario for field work would be a laptop that could do both.
If CF cards can be used, I would think that an internal hard drive could keep up with an HD-SDI stream?
It would be great if Sony could see this and make a laptop just for this purpose using the same codec that Convergent Designs is paying to use.
It would probably be less than $5,000 as well.
Just food for thought.
