I am currently looking at purchasing sony vegas 8 and as far as I know I need to activate this product online (Please correct me if I am wrong). I am looking at installing vegas on a pc which I will only use for a couple of months. Here is my question:

If I uninstalled vegas and then install it on a new (different) pc system, will I be able to activate vegas on the new pc without any problems?

Yep! In fact Sony says you can have Vegas installed on more than 1 PC that you own, as long as Vegas is not being used at the same time on both PC's.

I assume they either rely on your honesty or can somehow check this on web connected PC's...bit 1984 that though!???

Each activation will require on-line registration to unlock it I believe.
