Using Vegas to edit, but am intrigued with the idea of using a Laptop as a monitor and maybe to capture. Problem, Vegas is on my desktop--don't have the budget to buy another copy.
Vegas, of course, doesn't come with a full equivalent of Adobe Onlocation, but I don't even have Vegas on the laptop.
Any suggestions?
This would be with my new HR-Z7 that just arrived.
Thanks!

You can put it on both. But I think you're only supposed to use one at time.

Can one purchase OnLocation without buying the full Adobe editing suite?

you can have Vegas on more than 1 machine but can only run 1 at a time. Simply DL Vegas to your laptop, install the serial number and go.

No, it comes with Premiere Pro CS3. Sometimes a used copy of Serious Magic DV Rack (OnLocation's predecessor) shows up for sale. I have OnLocation on one laptop, and my old copy of DV Rack 2.0 on another laptop. There is very little difference between them.
