View Full Version : nNovia QCDeck - has anyone seen this? Ed Liew December 30th, 2004, 04:32 AM hi, is there any harddisk recorder that come with analog in/out beside fs2? ed Hart Boyd December 30th, 2004, 05:35 AM Have you looked at the nNovia Quick-Capture A2D? Don't have an personal experience with it but looks interesting. http://www.bhphotovideo.com/bnh/controller/home?O=productlist&A=details&Q=&sku=329216&is=REG or http://www.nnovia.com/prodquick_captureA2D.html Ed Liew December 30th, 2004, 10:44 AM hi hart, thank you for the help. just what i was looking for. now i need to do some reading on topic related to this product before i purchase one. thanks again. ed Hart Boyd December 30th, 2004, 12:45 PM Glad I could help. Here is a interesting article that compares several tapeless storage solutions. http://www.emedialive.com/Articles/ReadArticle.aspx?CategoryID=30&ArticleID=8950 Page 3 talks about the nNovia QuickCapture A2D Another note is that the unit is available in different battery mounting configurations and one is a Anton Bauer mount. Ed Liew December 31st, 2004, 11:29 AM very good review. thanks again, hart. happy new year;0) ed Barry Green December 31st, 2004, 03:30 PM I believe Douglas Spotted Eagle has a couple of QuickCapture A2D's, you might write to him directly to get his opinion. If I'm not mistaken, he thinks quite highly of them. Ed Liew January 1st, 2005, 03:14 AM thank you barry. might just do that. ed Jonathan Nelson July 8th, 2006, 03:56 PM I saw a preview of this unit from this site: http://www.gdbint.com.au/Product.aspx?pID=352&ptype=p I can't find much about it on the net but it looks so dreamy! Being able to swap out media drives and hdv support via firewire. Lots of cool features that I wish the firestore had. Does anyone know anything about this unit? Jonathan Nelson July 11th, 2006, 01:53 AM well, I thought it was cool. Chris Hocking July 11th, 2006, 02:29 AM Looking at the photo, it seems quite big. Not really something you can attach to the bottom of our camera and carry around with you. But I could be wrong. The specs look impressive, although I've never heard of nNovia before. You'd want to test drive it before purchasing. Interesting never-the-less! Jonathan Nelson July 12th, 2006, 08:23 AM Looking at the photo, it seems quite big. You'd want to test drive it before purchasing. Interesting never-the-less! I agree, it does look rather big. I have heard alot of good reports from people using Nnovia and so I am going to keep an eye out for this unit. Cliff Whitney September 4th, 2006, 06:06 PM The nNovia A2D does capture DV via firewire. I have been doing it for two years. Works good. Luke Springer October 8th, 2006, 10:33 PM Hello, I know that with the FS-4 you can open it up, put in a larger laptop hard drive, and void your warranty. Is it possible to do this with the Quick capture? Thanks, Luke :^) |
