I got a bamboo fun wacom stylus and tablet as a gift recently. Cool technology, and it'd be nice if I could use it, but there's one thing that's pretty much a dealbreaker:

The stylus I have, it thinks every time you "tap" it to the tablet (this means touching the tip to the tablet) that it's a mouse click. So, every time I pick my hand up and move, and put my hand down again, it clicks, and usually ends up dragging a selection box in whatever window/program I'm using. Very annoying, and no option in the preferences (that I can find) to disable this feature. Kinda makes it impossible to do anything unless you never pick your hand up.

Isn't there a stylus that has a tip that has to be pressed (spring loaded) to click, but if you just touch it to the pad without too much pressure, it won't do anything? Or am I crazy?

All of the tablets I've worked with, I think of them like a pencil... if they touch the tablet, they're doing something... I just cradle the pen in my hand close to the surface and slide the side of my hand around the tablet to move the cursor and drop the stylus tip when I want to click.

It might take a little getting used to, but that is how tablets have been working for the past 15 years or so (about how long I've been using them).

I agree, i was very much in a similar position when i first moved to a tablet....but as Kelly says....just stick with it!!

The hardest thing for me was the same thing, not knowing how to move the cursor without grabbing things and clicking rapid fire by mistake, but after about a week i relaxed with it and found that way of resting the nip so it's registering on the tablet, but not touching anything.

Stick with it! It's a much smoother ride in the end overall.

THAT was not in the manual. Sounds clever, though.

Okay, wow. . .even with my ring finger between the nib and the tablet, it makes no difference!
