This is a strange question and I'm not sure it fits in this thread. But I have a client who wants to integrate music with some on-hold messages to be played while their customers are on the phone. Does anyone have recommendations on using background music for a recorded on-hold telephone system? I know there are companies out there who do this, and it is something I wouldn't mind getting into to expand my business. Any tips or suggestions you may have would be greatly appreciated.

Bogen makes machines that will do the messaging for you all you have to do is make the on hold message on any multitrack system and load it to the unit and the bogen unit ties into the company's PBX. very very simple.

I have voiced hundreds of on-hold messages.
The music used is typically from a production library.

Gerry, thanks for the information. I think the client has some type of machine; they have asked me for voice-over track mixed with music.

David, I also appreciated your comments. Do you have any suggestions of music libraries that you have used in the past? Also, since I am new to all this, is it my understanding that I will mix the voice-over and the music track together and supply it as one mixed track? Or do the music and voice-over remain separate? Sorry for the novice questions, I hope you don't mind me asking. Again, any help would be great!!

Cheers, Jon

Generally music and narration are mixed.
