I'm considering producing a spoof on American Idol. I am looking for advice on the look. I use a Canon XL2. To get the most authentic look should I shoot 4x3 60i or consider something different?

I'd definitely use 60i, but American Idol is shot in 16:9 HD these days, so feel free to use 16:9 as well.
