Ok so this is popular wireless kit with the M2 mic option.

I have some questions:
1) What is the reliable range for use.
2) Does it pick up much noise from clothing
3) How clean is the sound from hiss and hum
4) Is it effective at recording audio from 2 people talking - or just the carrier.

Thank you!

1) What is the reliable range for use.

It depends on obstructions, but the range is speced out in the description

2) Does it pick up much noise from clothing

Any mic will, unless you are referring to actual drop outs.

3) How clean is the sound from hiss and hum

I think the sound is very clean.

4) Is it effective at recording audio from 2 people talking - or just the carrier.

That depends on what mic you get, someo pick up more round sound and some are more directional.

Sorry, what do you mean about the range? How close does someone have to be to pickup without dropout is what I wondered.

re Q4 - I mean using the supplied M2 mic.

Well, that's a loaded question. I think my range is like 300 feet, but I'm going off of a tired brain. But range takes into account, other interference from radio frequency, movement of your actors, how you have the antenna set, etc.

Someone else chime in on the range, I can't remember.

Reliable range is about 25 meters - yes that is less than you might expect.

The me2 will pick up someone who is right next to the mic'ed up person if they speak well. Consider that to mean someone who is touching.

If the mic rubs against clothing it is less susceptible to noise than high end mic's but it will still be a problem.
It will hear clothes noise but again it will be less sensitive than high end mic's. It will have a rougher sound with less detail.
That can be a blessing with inexperienced sound operatives.
Hiss and hum is not a problem but not as good as high end gear.
