Well I have returned from my trip to India, which is an unbelievable country that you all must visit, and am beginning the editing of all 12 hours of footage. I took with me my brand new Canon HV20 and was nothing but impressed and pleased with the results that it gave me. Now with this being my first HDV experience I have some issues with capture and project formats. First, in the HDV capture dialogue, there look to be little flag buttons in the lower right corner, this leads me to think that they would be for marking in and out points and capturing only those. Is this the case? Also, What is the point of the clip log other than just listing what you captured? It gives me the option to 'edit' the clip, but then it just takes me back to capture. Also, when I set my project settings to HDV 1080-60i, it makes my resolution 1.333. Why is this? Can I just edit it as and HD 1080i project? I do not like the stretched screen like it is in the HDV project. I have been trying to search for the answers but have just been getting frustrated so I figured, why not ask the pros? Thanks again guys for all of your help.

I also need to know how to recapture offline clips from my HDV tapes. The options to do so are grayed out and Vegas messed up a few clips so I have to go and recapture. Can someone PLEASE help me out here. Thanks.

Mitch, not being an HV20 owner (or any other HDV camera for that matter) all I can suggest is try the HV20 forum (http://hv20.com/).

But my issue is not with the camera, it is with Vegas. The camera works just fine.

The site has a PC Editing (http://hv20.com/forumdisplay.php?f=19) section and I saw several Vegas questions on it.
I've also seen this site recommended on a few other Vegas forums as a good place to go for help.
