Hi,
Just trying to figure out a bit of math:
720/480 = 1.5
1440/1080 = ~1.333
1920/1080 = ~1.778
So, not sure where I am heading with this, expcept that I am trying to get a better understanding of 4:3 and 16:9 aspect ratios.
Why do the numbers vary? I mean, should not the resulting number be the same based on the 4:3 or 16:9 aspect ratio?
Or, better question: What is an easy way to calculate the aspect ratio if you want to scale down a 1440x1080 video to 480 width? Obviously, the height would be 320, but what is the math that got me there?
Sorry if silly question. I can easily memorize these dimensions, but it would be nice to know the formulas.
Thanks in advance!
Cheers,
M
