Sorry if this is a noob question but I'm wondering how this feature works. I already have a Lectro 401 receiver and would like to use that. Is the Unislot simply a a receptacle for such a receiver, or is it the wireless receiver itself? Thanks!

Hello Peter,
No Doubt more techno minded posters will chime in, I have the 1000URX/Si On-Camera UHF Wireless Receiver in my Panasonic SPX800 it works very well,

It's a custom built receiver that fits Panasonic and Ikegami cameras, I beleive that Sony and Senheisser slot-in receivers will fit with an adapter.
It's easy/fast to select the input source channels from the cameras audio selection panel. and the power for the receiver is supplied by the camera, (No more batteries going down during a shoot) My reason to get one was that I was tired of having clip on/ strap on attachments all over the camera, that being said, I also use a Sony clip-on Radio Mic system as a second "Radio" audio channel input, when required.
Only dissapointment is the Aerials, they are Rigid and may break the receiver if used in a media scrum, news environment. I'm tracking down a pair of swivel base antenna to replace the factory supplied ones.
your Lectro 401 won't fit in the cameras slot provided. (As my Sony didn't)
Cheers

Some links for the slot-in/drop-in receivers -

all have their features, and dissadvantages.
For me , I find that it's one extra thing i don't have to clip on as needed.
