Just a few days ago, I returned to the US and I would like to post a lot of the clips that I shot using the Aiptek A-HD camcorder. The day before I left, I called many stores to see if any of them has the Aiptek GO-HD camcorder and surprisingly none of them had it but at least Sears told me that they had one left of the more affordable version, the A-HD. I immediately rushed to the mall and picked it up. It’s better than nothing and I didn’t have the money when Amazon was selling the Sanyo HD700 for only $300. Afterwards, I walked around to see who had the best deals for SD cards and luckily Radio Shack had 4 gig SDHC cards for 35 bucks each.
I’ll only give a brief review:
There is no stabilizer, no zoom (digital doesn’t count), the bit rate is too low, the lens is terrible and 2 focusing settings (close-up and standard) but seriously, what do you expect for $150?! It’s a great camcorder for kids because of the ease of use. You open the LCD screen and the camcorder is on, hit the record button and presto. When you’re on auto White Balancing mode, it’s sometimes necessary to close the LCD screen and open it again because the picture is sometimes bad especially when you’re indoors. The biggest feature that I like about the camcorder is that you record in NTSC but you can set the camcorder to output in PAL. This allowed me to hook it up to my relative’s and friend’s TVs. I wish my Sony HC1 had that feature!
I have a lot of clips so it’ll take me around a few days to post all of them. They’ll be a brief story on each set of clips. Also I’ve included both good and bad looking clips/ photos to truly give you an idea on how this camcorder performs. I didn’t bring a tripod with me and the camcorder was always on full Auto by the way.
Here’s part 1.

You need a decent computer to play these properly.
Since it records in the .MOV format, the PS3 will not play the clips.
PS: 1. December of 2006, my Sony HC1 suffered an internal injury and I couldn’t afford to send it to the hospital ever since. This is why I needed to buy a new camcorder for this trip.
PS: 2. I think we need a section for “All other HD camcorders”
