Hi everybody

Would you have a look at my videoblog, i would like your views it seems to average 3-4 hits a day, it doesnt seem to generate much business, Iam hoping to get around 20 weddings next year,

Have been filming weddings for 2years now no complaints up to now,

any tips to up the anti for this year 2008

Interesting editing. It was funny for sure but I'm not sure that people will select you based on this demo unless that is the type of clients you are trying to reach. My opinion is that Brides typically are the ones primarily interested in video and they want a video that will stand the test of time and be more elegant or romantic. I could be completely wrong. It would be good to have this video in your portfolio to show your range of editing ability. I really liked it when the couple were walking toward each other and it then flashed to someone entirely different.

Why do all wedding videos have black and white shots randomly interspersed with the color shots? (Lien & Cleber has it when they are walking down the aisle.) It is one of those wedding vid cliches that I find infuriating because it always seems so arbitrary to me.

Don't forget the dutch angles.

yeah, it's funny to see a lot of dutch angles in wedding videos, after all, the dutch angle technique's primary use is to portray "psychological uneasiness or tension in a subject." Not something you try to associate with weddings(although much of the wedding day is usually pretty tense, hehe). They are cool if used tastefully, but a little creepy if overdone..

You're right Jonh, so do I, I also prefer romantic videos, but in this case was a request of the couple. and a had a lot of fun editing this video. lolol.

Thanks, I know there are lots of problems, and many can be fixed as I have lots to learn.

Now that's what I was looking for, Thanks very much for the comments. I will keep that in mind for my next shoot.
That's where this forum has been invaluable in terms of ideas and possibilities with wedding videography.
Hehe, I couldn't bring myself to do a dutch angle or a black & white sequence though.

It's an easy way to create contrast from one shot to the next.

... and to cover up that you forgot to set the white balance on one of your cameras <wink>!

Also really useful for footage that is a bit noisy or just "off" color wise... but the shot is good!

I was wondering what you use to print the covers. I'm considering tossing my ink jet and getting a laser printer. I print to preforated covers and haven't been able to get the covers professionally done. I was wondering what printer you are using?

I print at photoprint store, the size is 30cm x 20cm. the quality is imcomparable.
