I noticed two dead pixies but it seems the masking procedure has been deleted. Anyone know the procedure for masking pixels?

Brian Luce January 18th, 2008, 04:47 AM hey Brian. send me your email address through PM and ill send you the instructions. takes two seconds. Thanks Alan, I emailed you. Btw, is it possible to PM in this forum? I don't seem to have that feature. Maybe I'm on double secret probation here for asking too many dumb questions and lowering the general level of discussion. Jeff Cerar January 18th, 2008, 01:44 PM The link is still here...just did a Search for pixel mask...see Ken Freed JVC post here... http://www.dvinfo.net/conf/showthread.php?t=68211&highlight=pixel+mask Good luck. Nate Benson January 18th, 2008, 04:30 PM well the current line is four years old. so if you follow apple's pattern, we should see new ones this summer in theory Claude Mangold January 21st, 2008, 01:46 AM Our GY-HD251 has maybe 10 hrs recording and it's already got 2 dead pixels. And from operating only in studios and at rock concert, no heat, nothing. We use it for film-quality work, some of it going to 35mm-filmout. If dead pixels grow at this speed we'll soon have a Swiss cheese picture. one can't go on masking forever - or before every shoot. What should we do ? mask? have the vendor mask ? notify JVC Switzerland? send it in ? Thanks btw i already posted on this subject about a year ago but regarding a 110 with quite a few hours. this one is brand new. If it was me, and as long as I had ample warranty remaining, I wouldn't worry about it, keep using the camera and stay vigilant for malfunctions. Be sure to look for issues on a decent monitor--don't trust the LCD. It's junk. Alan Ortiz January 21st, 2008, 04:53 PM Thanks Alan, I emailed you. Btw, is it possible to PM in this forum? I have no idea as ive never used it. did you get those pixels masked? i just had to mask two stuck pixels last week after noticing them on a short we just recently completed- not the best time to discover them!
