I am experiencing an approximate 1/2 sec lag in the audio/video sync when capturing ProRes (HQ) 1080i 29.97 via analog AJA LHe in latest version of FCP. Ironicly the audio is ahead of the video. I am capturing video via componant analog outs from a Sony HVR-Z1U and an outboard mic connected directly to the an AJA Kona LHe. Video is excellent and audio is excellent but out of sync. Hardware is top notch including 8-core 3.0 Ghz MAC Pro, 5 GB Ram, and 6TB Xsan via 4Gb fibre.
Same exact setup captures uncompressed 10bit 1080i NO Problem and audio is in perfect sync with no dropped frames. This works but does not offer efficient space utilization for our workflow. The people at AJA said they have seen this before and reducing RAM to 2GB might help, but that will reduce Motion's ability significantly.
We need good green screen footage from a modest camera and efficient space usage similar in size to uncompressed SD and ProRes fits the bill.
Any suggestions.
