View Full Version : Cinemek's G35 is back! Rafael Lopes January 13th, 2008, 04:05 AM Check it out, guys. Cinemek's G35 is finally here! Demos, pre-orders, details: http://www.cinemek.com/ Robert Batta January 13th, 2008, 10:35 AM i like it ;) http://virb.com/cinemek/videos/35230 Thomas Richter January 13th, 2008, 11:06 AM It is an amazing video. But it has far too little resolution to reveal any advantages over the many solutions out on this forum. Any decent adapter with a good latitude camcorder and a NLE with colour grading ability can produce these images. The video itself, however, is a magnificent work of art, IMO. Rene Hinojosa January 14th, 2008, 02:27 PM I think that video is an older file and not a new vid to represent the new Cinemek adapter. David Delaney January 21st, 2008, 07:33 AM I wonder if it is the same guys as before doing it or someone new. I always wondered if there was a legal issue going on with the adapter back when John first introduced it because he brought it out in BETA form and then we heard nothing about it for a long time until now. Eric Gorski January 22nd, 2008, 04:25 AM i have that video at full 720p. it is even more convincing at full res. Ben Winter January 22nd, 2008, 12:02 PM Check it out, guys. Cinemek's G35 is finally here! Demos, pre-orders, details: http://www.cinemek.com/ They've had demos and pre-orders up for a long time. This doesn't look like it's "back" but merely a redesign of what was already there and a FAQ section answering some really simplistic questions. Rafael Lopes January 23rd, 2008, 05:59 AM I've been speaking to Jonathan recently and it IS back. The e-mail with the passcode for the people who originaly made the orders was already sent and the first units should be shipping soon. Sam Doyle January 23rd, 2008, 06:47 PM looks great & I like it, the vid is amazing.. but they need more info on the website..... S Gary Brun August 8th, 2008, 11:24 AM How much is it? Henry Olonga August 8th, 2008, 02:04 PM i have that video at full 720p. it is even more convincing at full res. You wouldn't be willing to share that clip would you.I am interested at how this adaptor works in HD.Thanks Dean Harrington August 23rd, 2008, 12:59 AM since I've had any news on this static adaptor ... good to see some advancement ... but what does it costs at this point? Dean Harrington August 26th, 2008, 08:02 PM cost: $1,349.00 USD for 3 components. The modular nature of the adaptor is very well done! The problem as I see it is that the EX1 component is out of stock ??? There are no recent examples of video quality ... no examples of clarity at different f-stops ... nothing on culmination for back focus ... very little information on the unit? Generally, the people there have responded to emails ... I just wish they'd put out more info on the adaptor. David Chia August 27th, 2008, 12:44 AM From what I can see is that it shoots upside down, it is a Static adapter and the footage on the website are from a long time ago when they first started out. (totally different adapter to the one that they are currently selling...) Dean Harrington August 29th, 2008, 04:52 AM From what I can see is that it shoots upside down, it is a Static adapter and the footage on the website are from a long time ago when they first started out. (totally different adapter to the one that they are currently selling...) Upside down is OK. I'll be using an EX3, convergent design nanno (it has a flip function on the unit) and cinemek said they were getting one together for the EX1/3. My main concern is at what speeds do you see the grain? I'd love to see a grainless GG but as far as I know there isn't one ... hence, the fast spinning GG with good boken to this point is as good as it gets. The idea of having three separate parts to the unit is a good idea. It lets the makers put out components for different needs. They do need to get recent footage out there and answer questions. I've asked them about my concerns but they don't really answer questions except about general things ... at least they are talking and that's something. Eugene Presley October 28th, 2008, 10:51 AM I have seen some footage of this adapter : amazing bokeh! Very nice quality!!! Dean Harrington October 29th, 2008, 12:37 AM I love to hear from someone who has bought and used the unit. Anyone out there? Philip Adrian Booth May 1st, 2009, 10:32 PM NAB 2009 I received my G35 and WOW, Simply beautiful , Filmic and Epic. I am using it with an EX1/EX3 and Zacuto support. Both products rock! Great E2E, very minimal CA if any, way into the TV safe zone only on a few lenses , 24mm, 85mm a little soft, those lenses are kind of tricky with the EX1 optics anyway, even with the Elite. Easy setup, very minimal tweeking and lightweight for handheld shooting. Shot interior with two 1k lights , one for key and one for back ground. Looked great , of course next week i will test more. Shot several HD charts with multiple lenses, very impressive. I will be glad to post some footage and / or screen grabs a.s.a.p but just wanted to be straight to the point, "this is the Jaguar of Bokeh "we all have been waiting for. Check out Philip Bloom's new short, it's brilliant! Jonathan is a passionate shooter and it shows in the product. This is not a corporate, industrial adapter for those average so-so jobs, this is for "Today, i'll make Lawrence of Arabia and go to bed content, realizing what i'm on this earth for, "I'm a Filmmaker!" Great work Cinemek Great Work Mr. Bloom |
