Hi, I have a couple of question regarding the manual, as my English is not very good, I can’t understand what “shoot transition” or “auto trans” function really is for, and if I can assign just one button to this function? and same with "digital extender" and all "scan mode", what is their function;,,;,

I would like that someone could explain this to me in the simplest language as possible please, as I'm deciding which 'assign buttons' assign and start to play…

And one last thing, I’m shooting in 25p with the V1 PAL, and I’m capturing with no problem with final cut pro 6.0, hdv (1080i50), but where can I set ITEM and TIMELINE properties to progressive ?
Actually if I ‘control’ click on the item and go to “item properties” and then go to format, then I have ‘field dominance’ set to upper (odd), and same in sequence settings, I have just “none” and “lower even” options. So my question is, how do I know that I’m working with truly progressive files then?

Thanks for your help guys….

Shot transition will allow you to pre-set something like focus, then during the shot, press the button to transition to that focus. (not only for focus).

Auto trans - don't remember, perhaps this allows you to do in-camera transitions between shots? If you're going out to FCP you don't want auto trans.

Digital extender allows more telephoto zoom than the lens will do by itself. Generally, using digital zoom will result in lower resolution. Most people will never use this, it's turned off on my V1.

All-scan shows you the complete image in the viewfinder or LCD. I have this set up on an assign button, it's very good.

My assign buttons are set up as follows:
Assign 1 - Peaking
Assn 2 - Marker (which is set to show 4:3)
Assn 3 - All-scan
Assn 4 - End search
Assn 5 - Steadyshot
Assn 6 - Color bars

Almost all of my work is shot on a tripod.
