I had the oppertunity the other day to play around on the Sony HC7 and I must say, it's a very nice camcorder. I am seriously considering purchasing a HC7 for myself but the one thing that concerns me is the touch screen lcd.

My question is:

Can a person use a pda stylus pen on the HC7 lcd screen to avoid getting smudging fingerprint marks all over the lcd?

I would like to hear from someone who has actually tried this. If I can use a stylus pen on this camcorder I will definitely be buying the HC7.

I've used a stylus from a Unitech barcode scanner, it works great, although i find myself still using my fingers as the camera has no stylus holder, lol....

I just used a regular pen (tip retracted obviously), and it worked fine on my CX7, which should be the same touch screen as the HC7.

We use finger cots at work....

the ones on this website are a little long but they are easy to cut down to
where just the pad of your finger is covered....

If you don't want the hassle of cutting them down you just roll them back up after you put them on your finger....

Thanks for all your replies guys. It is great news to hear that the stylus works on this lcd and I will also have a look at the finger cots.

I think this is a great camera, especially for when I go on holiday. So, my mind is pretty much made up.

Thanks guys.

I currently use a screen protector. It works well and doesn't leave that bad of a fingerprint. Easy to clean too.
