I use Premiere CS3 to capture A1 footage. I have no problem capturing HDV from my XH A1, but if I set Down-convert ON in the camera, and launch Capture, my computer freezes. Any idea? Thanks....

BTW, I have been watching people saying here that the HDV file extension is m2v or something like that, but with my CS3, the captured HDV file is mpeg, i am sure it's the same footage, but why different file extension?

My brother had this same issue, but has tried quite a few different programs with no luck. He even tried 'EndItAll' to shut down everything but the main programs with no luck. He now downloads the full HD file and converts it with a computer program rather than the camera.
