I'm thinking of giving my production manager, Helen, my HV20 camera and backup shotgun as a "thank you" present as we wrap up production.

Problem - most of her work's going to be in PAL (NZ tv) and the HV20 I have is NTSC - recording in 60i and 24p. Will she have much trouble converting to PAL - she's got Final Cut Pro. I'd buy her a PAL version of the camera, but the cheapest I can find is twice as expensive as the NTSC one...

How big a deal is it to record NTSC video in a PAL country?

To be honest, it's a bit of a drag.
She will have to render everything to PAL after it's done, and sometimes, she won't have the time for it.
The quality will also be worse, because of all the encoding.

It's really nice though that you want to give a camera as thank you present.
