After about 6 months of owning the HD200 I started to see a bar of DDDDDDDDDDDD flash up in the viewfinder then go again, about a frames worth each time. This was a very infrequent occurrence, but as of today it's so frequent it's infuriating, every minute or so! Occasionally the bar of DDDDDDs turns into a nice pretty yellow bar! How very nice!

Anyone else experienced this or anything similar? Did it end up affecting the footage (not suffered any link to what's recorded as yet), did you get it repaired?

I know exactly what you mean, I had the army of D's marching across the screen too, I'm on HD110e and it happens very very rarely though and has never been an inconvenience, do you know what it's for?

It's never disrupted any footage, and for me it's so infrequent it doesn't warrant any repairs, but i hope you find your solution somehow!

I've seen this several times with my HD200, yet not enough so far to become an annoyance.

The possibility that this could increase in frequency and/or affect the footage, however, is worrisome.

I've read past threads about this & don't remember ever hearing an explanation.

How is it possible that some master techs at JVC cannot know what this is and at least make a statement to (hopefully) assuage our fears? A firmware fix would be a plus, obviously.

I've had it as well. I haven't conclusively linked it to dropout, but I've had some dropout occur sometimes too. If it happens when I have control, I repeat the take, otherwise I feel uncomfortable...

It would be nice to have it resolved, or at least explained. If it definitely has no connection to a video recording problem, I wouldn't really be troubled by it.

i had 3 cameras 201 they all do it.

seems like a common fault then throughout the model ranges.

Pretty poor from JVC to let this one through every time

I've not noticed any ill effects from the DDDs but it's increasing frequency is worrying!

It seems to be a hardware problem with no consequences for image quality. If it is really annoying, contact a JVC dealer to take care of it. If it happens very rarely and it isn't bugging you, there's no real need to get it fixed. It is caused by crosstalk.
