Hi all. I'm starting to learn FCP5.1 having migrated from PP on the PC and it seems that all video and audio in my clips have become unlinked. The clips are underlined showing me that they are linked. I must have accedentally hit some shortcut. Much head scratching ... any ideas on how to keep them linked?
Thanks
Jon

Above your timeline, at the right, you have 2 small buttons. One of them turns on the snapp function, if I'm not mistaken, the other one just links or unlinks all your video and audio.

I WISH Premiere Pro had this function!!!
Unlinking EVERY shot is just tedious!
I'll be glad if I'll migrate to FCP in january...
(sorry, this is a MAJOR annoyance that I've had for years with premiere, héhé)

The short cut to toggle on and off is "shift L" for the linking and "n" for the snapping.

Thanks Mathieu, Problem solved. Nothing like learning a whole new set of shortcuts to keep the brain flexible.

alittle off topic but,
you can temporarily unlink an individual track to drag it
by hitting "option" and dragging it in
the timeline...I find it helpful.
