Is there a happy medium between these two cameras? A guideline at least? :)

We'll be shooting HD product shots with the V1U and using my XL2 for some other shots potentially, and if there's a way to get a decent middle ground between the 2 cameras, that'd be really useful.

The shoot starts Tuesday, so any advice before that would be helpful. It goes til Thursday though, so if you read this late, that's fine too.
