View Full Version : How much is a JVC HD100A worth these days?

I'm considering selling my JVC GY-HD100A and I have a few questions.
What is a fair asking price for the camera?
Mine has barely been used, I think it has somewhere between 40 and 70 hours on the drums. It has been upgraded by JVC to the "A" model and the VTR software has also been updated to the latest version. I have the Anton Bauer battery and charger that JVC gave away as a promotion with purchase of the camera. The lens, mic, original and new battery and charger are all in perfect condition. I also have a pelican case that holds everything but the Anton Bauer charging unit.

Also, where is the best place to sell my camera? Through DVinfo, Craigslist, Ebay? I'm really looking at my options right now.

Many thanks,
Matt

I hate to be the one to give you the bad news, but that camera is going for only about $20 these days, even in good condition. However, because I feel sorry for you I'd be willing to offer you $40 for it :-)

Very helpful answers.
In Switzerland, somebody sells it for 4500 Swissfrancs, 5 JVC-Batteries included. That's about $ 5000.-. The camera is for selling since months, as I see.

In the classifieds today there are two HD100s for sale. One, which comes with Bogen tripod kit, a petrol bag, a Varizoom monitor and dual Anton Bauer battery kit, is selling for 5K US. The other which also comes with dual battery kit - IDX, a wide angle adapter and some filters is selling for $2,600. Go figure..

I was wrong - 4500 Swissfrancs are not 5000 $ of course - about 4000 $.
Maybe you can try here:
