Looking for a place where buy a V1, but my issue is that now Bhphoto doesn’t allows some Europeans country’s to use visa cards over 1500 euros, and there’s a big tax over the wire transfer I was planning to do, so abort mission.

Now I’m looking for another houses where to buy.
Actually in Globalmedia pro there’s a
Sony HVR-V1E PAL for EUR 3,280.00
And:
Sony HVR-V1P PAL EUR 2,840.00

Honestly I don’t understand the difference between both. They are both pal right? So then why the price difference?

In the other hand, I read terrible things about this dealer in New Zeland.

Please, any suggestions

Thanks for you help

Martin

Sony HVR-V1E PAL is the modell meant for Europe

Sony HVR-V1P PAL is the modell meant for the Pacific area.

They are the same camera but meant for different areas and I guess that reflects the price of the cam.

Remember that buying from outside Europe there is no warranty

So that means the V1P in BHPhoto is not for Europe but just for pacific area?

I have one more question, is it possible get any DOF with the V1, using ND filters or doing something else? I read somwhere that with this camera is really hard to get any DOF

thanks for your help once more

Martin,

I've attached a half-size capture of a Great Tit in my garden. on a typical dull Irish Autumn day. I tried the usual trick of opening the iris right up and using ND2.

It's not bad - the trees in the background are indeed blurred as you'd expect, but it's not quite as good as my last camera, the VX2100 (CCD with larger chips).
