Greetings! Back when the XL-1, G1/2 and others of that ilk were introduced they were subjected to intense scrutiny by the professional audio guys.
In all the posts about the XH-A1 and its kin there's been almost a total lack of discussion about the audio recording quality of these cameras, either in SD or HD mode. Is this because the audio hardware has dramatically improved and it's a "no news is good news" situation in that people don't have any complaints? Or because many people are shooting double system and therefore, the in-camera audio quality is less important than it was a few years back? Or something else, such as, up until now no one has asked?
When my A1 arrives I'll be using it mostly for in-camera audio recording and thus, the matter is of some interest to me. In a few days I'll have some of the answers myself, but in the meantime, the lack of audio discussion is still a puzzlement.
Thank you for any of your thoughts about this-
