Here's a battery powered box for a drive. You could put in a 250GB 2.5" drive.

The question of course, will the HD7's built-in Archive software recognize the drive an copy files to it as though it were a huge DVD drive?

By the way, I doubt any OTG function will pull files from the HD7's harddisk.

My guess is that for Firewire, it will be underpowered to capture with just battery.

Why do i need to capture by firewire. I just use USB all the time, seems to be as a quick and as easy as can be.
