I'm shooting on the Sony V1U in 24p mode, on an NTSC camera. Therefore, the camera records 24p mode @ 30 fps (or rather 29.97)? Or should it be recording at 24 fps?

When importing into Final Cut Pro, I see the clip settings and they appear to be 29.97, using the HDV1080i60 compressor. Is this the correct setting if I ultimately want to have the option of exporting to make a 35mm print and eventually convert for PAL and NTSC DVD releases?

Thanks for any info you can provide... and if you think you're dumbing down your answer too much, don't. Most likely it will serve me.

The V1 wraps the 24p into 60i; therefore, you need to perform pulldown to get 24p. If you have FCP 6 or later, I believe it will now perform the V1's pulldown. If you have an earlier version, Steve Mullen wrote an article that describes a workaround. Here is the link:
