Hey Music Fans,

In hopes of helping a friend realize a dream I find myself in need of some songs. Who can give me songs to check out that are

Suitable for a female singer

Blues-oriented that cross into classic rock territory (or even country, for where I live)

Recognizable?

I’ve been listening to some female Blues artists and have to say that I haven’t heard anything that lights my fire yet. I like some of Keb Mo’s music, but would anyone recognize it?

We've just started in all this. My friend lived the Blues/Jazz for years so he knows what he's doing, but it's a new frontier for me. Any help from you would be appreciated!

Moved from Area 51 to TOTEM (only weird stuff in A51, Lorinda!)

Maybe a little earlier period than you want, but check out Big Momma Thornton. She had a big hit with "Hound Dog" before Elvis :-)

Wow--that should keep me busy for a while. Thank you, Victor!

So Boyd...you think maybe I could be a Big Momma, too? I'll sure check it out! Big Momma Norton... :) Thanks!
