Well I shoot a lot of stuff in frame mode (XL1s PAL) and use Premiere as of late. So do I still need to deinterlace?
I just edit and export to DV as normal.

Is this correct? Or am I going to the bother of shooting in Fames mode for the NLE to mess it all up and interlace it.

Are there any special tweeks that need to be done for frame mode? or do I just put in on timeline for Standard PAL 16bit, edit and export to DV or save movie DV standard to export later???

Any words of wisdom or experience with XL1s frame mode would be very much appreciated!

I routinely shoot frame mode on my XL1s. I edit on Vegas 4. I've tried both progressive and de-interlaced rendering modes. In my experience, the deinterlaced mode always produces motion artifacts. The progressive mode does not. My $.02 worth.

You shouldn't have to do anything. If you want you can indicate
to Premiere (by right-clicking on the footage in the time line I
believe) that it is non-interlaced. By default Premiere doesn't
care as long as you don't tell it to reverse fields or de-interlace
or whatever. Just capture and edit away!
