Just bought a new Intel Mac Pro two dual-core 2.66Ghz with 8GB Ram OSX 10.4 QuickTime 7.2 and Final Cut Pro 6.0.1 as part of the Final Cut Studio 2.
So I pluged in my Sony HVR-V1E to encode my PAL 1080i 25fps HDV video. When I set the in and out timecode FCP would rewind the camera tape and usually within a few seconds of the start time it would throw an error stating it could not read the time code. When I tried the Capture Now button in FCP it would record just 2 seonds and then stop encoding!
So I switched the V1's VCR mode into HDV instead of AUTO and that helped when I tried recording using the Capture Now feature but still no progress when using timecode.
The V1 is not in the FCP list of suported cameras but wondering if anyone else has got the V1 working with timecode?
Thx
Kevin
