I own a canon XHA1, sennheiser radio mics and a Rhode NTG 2. I'm planning on heaading for Morrocco with a friend but may leave my cam at home and take my mates more moblie hdv camera instead. However, his camera does not have XLR's so i wonder if anyone can suggest a cheap way of getting good audio to my Rhode mic?
Years ago i used to get great recordings from professional Walkman's and later mini disc recorder/players, but it's been a long time since i looked into this stuff.
Any ideas?

Look into a Beachtek so you can use the Rode on a camera with miniplug mic inout. Of course, that assumes his camera HAS an external mic input - some consumer cameras don't and you didn't mention what camera he has. If you want a separate recorder, look into the Zoom H4 and H2.

Thanks Steve,
These options are exactly the kind of gizmo's i hoped to be alerted to, with prices to match. The Zoom products look particulary interesting, so 'i'll be looking into making a purchase soon.
Thanks again.

There are some good posts in this forum about Zoom H2 and H4. These are interesting products that I too covert but they have a few issues. Search in here and you'll find the posts (if I can find them myself in the next few minutes I'll put in a link or two in editing.)
Here you go!!!

Thanks Andy, This stuff looks really interesting, as does the Beachtek product. It's nice to think i can get great sound without busting the bank.
