I currently have a GL-2 as my second camera. It does not match the A1 at all for a lot of reasons. I'm having a bad time with using these two together especially when I shoot stage shows with lots of colored lights. Any recommendations for a better match at way less money? I can't afford another A1 (first choice).

HV20 or rent a second A1. People have been pretty successful matching the HV20 to the A1.


One reason to consider with a second A1 (even if you rent for a while) as opposed to an HV20 is the audio section of the A1 and having that part as a back up if your A1 were to fail.

I've got an HV20 as second camera, amazing stuff. You wouldn't believe what an HV20 can do, even as alternate 'fly against the wall' solution for the A1.
