Just "testing th waters" on this idea (pun intended).

I know the people at WeDJ have organized a wedding industry cruise. After spending much time here over the years and getting lot's of pointers/advice, as well as a good laugh now and then, I wonder if there would be any interest in organizing a Caribbean cruise for wedding videographers next winter. I know it would be a small group but I think I may know some people that could get a decent group rate. This would be great because we could all share our experiences etc, get to relax in our "off season" and write it all off on the tax bill. Just an idea. It could be productive AND fun (as all life should be:). I wonder if anyone else would be interested in such a thing.

Sounds good to me. I have actually been on a couple of the WEDJ cruises and they were really fun, meeting, learning and seeing new places.

I'd be interested if my wife wasn't already planning a cruise for us for 2008 and 2009. Heck, I think she's planning a cruise for 2015 at this point. I hope she never finds this thread!

I belong to a travel club and could get an outstanding rate on a 7 day cruise. Keep me posted.

Also if anyone wants to offer a destination wedding package based on the rates I can get, let me know what you would like to do, where you would like to go, as I can share my rates with friends and family.

(My wife and I joined the travel club to fill up our off-season with -- summers in AZ!)

Sounds like a great idea to me. I'd love to see this happen!

For great pricing on cruises...check out http://www.vacationstogo.com/ticker.cfm. Prices are half or lower than published fares and you don't have to make reservations to far in advance. I've used them several times and have saved big bucks. On a side note, many cruises now have videographers following folks around and getting events on the cruise to produce a DVD you can buy at cruise end. They show footage they've shot daily on the ship TV to publicize them. From what I found out talking to the videographers, sales are good and getting better every cruise. I bought one last cruise and they're not bad.
