I recently received the two Tram TR-50's wired for my Sennheiser G2 wireless. I bought a Sound Devices 302 mixer a couple months ago and run the receivers into it. All equipment was bought new from B&H and Trew Audio.

I've always run the stock Sennheiser ME2 lav into the transmitter with sensitivity at -20 and it's sounded fine. For whatever reason, the Tram TR-50's are really quiet and need sensitivity at 0 to be able to even see level. It's very hissy and needs a lot of gain from the mixer.

I also ordered Tram TR-79 1/8" to XLR adapters (this package: http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/387296-REG/Tram_TR50BSETXL__TR50_Omni_Directional_Lavalier.html) and have tried running the lavs hardwired to the mixer. It's slightly hotter, but still unacceptably noisy.

Has anyone used this combination of gear? I have two G2 500 sets, two TR-50's and two TR-79's and the problem is consistent with them all. I am certain that the problem is in the mics.

Any insight would be appreciated.

I use the Trams and Sennheisers for low budget stuff... all good for me..
