So I needed to make a different version of a video I'm working on in Premiere 2.0, for a client, that was shorter. I deleted the parts I didn't need, re-edited the sequence which was now about half the length of the original, and then saved the project under a new name. Now when I open the new project, and select Export/movie, the video file ends up with about 2 minutes worth of black at the end, I'm assuming its the length of the original sequence in the first project that I shortened.
I've set the work area bar to the lenght of the video, made sure there's no misplaced clips way off at the end of the timeline, and triple checked the settings to make sure the render option is set to "work area bar" and not "entire sequence". Still, about 2 minutes worth of black at the end. I've even tried nesting the sequence to see if that would help, but no luck.

Any suggestions? As it stands now, I'm going to have to open the clip in After Effects and cut out the black. I've never had this problem before.

Have you tried to put the footage on the preview pane and set the
in/out sets??

I use to have this problem with Liquid edition 5 .... You can export a EDL of the timeline and creat a new project importing de EDL. It should work. You can also read the EDL after exporting to check if there is something at the end.
