Only UK site but the manual is USA too. Seems to be standardized.

Download includes separate PDF for various languages.

On US site I saw a page which looked like it was still being build.

Yes!

By the way, it appears there are seven different language manuals available in the 129MB zip file.

Woops... I see craig just mentioned this.

OK! You are both freakin' brilliant, and worthy members of the mutual admiration society. Now would one of you be kind enough to steer the unanointed to the manual download page? Or you could just say no.

It's ALL THERE in the deceptively mislabeled Clip Browser download.
Download and you'll find:

Included in that link are EX1 Manuals for 7 languages.

Mac and Windows SxS Device Driver Software Installer
ReadMe for the above in 7 languages.

XDCAM EX Clip Browsing Software Installer
Windows XP/Vista Japanese & English and Mac OSX
Manual for the above in 7 Languages

Links to 9 National/regional Sony sites
USA Product registration link.

Thanks very much. I had no intention of downloading the software yet, as it will probably be revved before I buy, so I would never have found it-no site searches were positive. I've noticed that about Sony's websites before-they are peculiarly intransigent. Thanks again, maybe it will answer some questions.

Sneaky hiding spot for the manual...

Thanks for the clarification.

Manual downloading now!

After a quick glance at the manual, an SxS card doesn't appear to be included with the camera. It does not show up in the package configuration and it is referred to as "optional" under "Handling SxS Memory Cards".

At the HD World Expo in NYC in mid October the rep said Sony hadn't decided whether they'll be 0,1,2 cards included. Every dealer's site I've seen confirms 1 8GB card.

Speaking to my dealer, Sony sends you a 2nd 8GB card free after you register online. The dealer believes this was done to discourage gray market sales.

I suspect the manual was printed before Sony decided to include 1 card.

That was my understanding as well, although I've yet to get the Sony link for the bonus SxS card to come up. Perhaps they're waiting for the camera to actually ship before posting.
