Your aspect ratio is all out of whack.

Yeah Its 16:9 I played it in media player classic and Vlc set to 16:9 and plays correct ratio then. Avid is not very friendly with other codecs like wmv so it wouldnt let me render out any other way. Unless someone can tell me how to go about doing it.

Hi Peter. On my monitor here, it's squished vertically but within a pillarbox. If you use QT in Avid all you would have to do is select 16x9 in the export dialog box. Other than that, using some other format, you may have to apply a 16x9 resize filter to your timeline prior to exporting.

what are you using to play? only windows media player it plays stretched for me but that hasnt got options for 16x9. Also in anamorphic 2.35 ratio when its in the correct ratio.

Sorry I forgot to mention... I was using Windows Media player as well. I tried it with VLC with the 16x9 adjustment & it was fine then, but one shouldn't have to do that :)

Ok I've rendred it in Sorenso so the mediafire/rapidshare files are now correct ratio.

Hi Peter
You don't happend to have the settings for the cam in a custom preset file?
I liked the colours in the video and I would like to know the settings for it. It also have some grain which I found annoying at first but eventually found both the grain and the colours more like film than video.

/Bo

The music was a tad melancholy, while the transitions seemed too quick and sharp. IMO, some nice slow dissolves on the transitions would have lent itself well to the end product.
Of course I am a complete neophyte with video. Added to the fact that this is my first video camera, a two week old XH-A1 of course, I would have a few grains of salt on stand-by if I were you.
Nice work.

thanks guys. Yeah I agree the editing needs clean up. I was just so excited with the footage I wanted to quickly lay it down chuck some music and upload. I will be doing more filming this weekend so I'll have to do a proper edit with the next lot of footage. Just need a better tripod now. because the the pans are dodgy.
Bo Sundvall: its the Vividrgb setting that Steven Dempsey made. I did some quick CC and one of the shots magic bullet when I edited to make it a bit more punchy hence propalby a bit more grain. Although the wmv render seemed to have made the grain a bit bigger then the original footage.
