I plan to buy some Event ALP5 speakers, a pair of them. I want to hook up the XLR to an audio device to get balenced output then go into my computer so a USB Audio Device is key. I don't know much about them though and I like to calculate my decisions on purchases very carefully. Anyone know what I should be looking for, watching out to avoid, etc.?

If anyone knows specifically what would be best for me by all means point it out. I dont want to spend more than 300 on the device...because the speakers are that much lol.

Btw, ide like to hook up a mic to this thing at some point for voice over.

What is your budget? that will be the biggest factor as to what to recommend as prices range from under 100 to over 1k. when you figure this out then we look at what is your best option. also what other features are important to you?

Nice to see you peforming due diligence!
One note, with the Presonus Inspire box on a Mac you have to open the Inspire app to change the levels - the nice buttons on the Mac keyboard have no control. I'd also try to find something with a nice big knob.

Mac or PC?
Desktop or laptop?

Mac Desktop for me...budget ide like to keep under the cost of the speakers which are 330 or so. Keep in mind ide like to use the thing in windows as well when I restart using bootcamp. If I wish to edit in windows using some other software ide like it to work in there too.
