I just tried to downconvert some HDV footage from my H1, but both playback and downconvert in the signal setup meny are greyed out.
I can´t seem to figure out what to do. Hopefully it´s vey easy and I´m just a bit too tiered right now.
Anyone?

Joachim, see page 98 in the manual:
menu: vcr/play menu - [signal setup], select [HD down-conv], set it to ON and close the menu.

Power down and disconnect the FireWire cable. When the cable is connected, those menu options are greyed out. Unplug the cable and they become selectable. Choose your settings and then plug the FireWire cable into the camera.

I just realized it had to be something like this when I tried to capture to a DV time line and it worked.I´m glad to have a proper explanation though.
