They sell them at Wal-Mart.
I like the one that says...
"I've gone to find myself.
If I should return before I get back...
Please keep me here until I come back."
---or---
"Don't let your mind wander...
It's too little to be let out by itself."
---or---
"Have you seen them?
Did you see which way they went?
I must find them...I am their leader."
....Oh...You must mean the UWOL tee shirt.
I hadda do it...Sorry.
Meryem Ersoz October 24th, 2007, 11:14 AM so bruce...i gotta ask, are you signing up? or just needling chris??

Bruce Foreman October 24th, 2007, 11:14 AM I'm in.
Dang. Can't say just "I'm in".

I'm in...

Meryem Ersoz October 24th, 2007, 03:52 PM you can rest later, geir...
gilles, the theme will be announced November 1. this gives a week for everyone to see the sign-up thread and sign up. we end the sign-ups before we announce the theme. that's the Challenge....
Steve Siegel October 24th, 2007, 04:50 PM Count me in. Win or lose, I always learn lots.

Daniel Ross October 24th, 2007, 11:56 PM I may be in. First to find some more info on this....
Paul Mailath October 25th, 2007, 12:14 AM I figure I should just sit quietly and watch what you lot come up with but I'm going to try again - make it a marine theme - I'm still wet from being in the tank!
Bryce Comer October 25th, 2007, 02:04 AM Wow, this is unreal! I've been hanging out for this challenge, i missed out on the sign up for the last challenge by a couple of days. That was when i first discovered this contest, & ever since i've been inspired by all of your work. Hope i can submit something that comes close to the quality i've seen so far!
Bryce.
Warren Cook October 25th, 2007, 06:51 AM After signing up for the last one I was unable to find anything worth filming.
Hope I have better luck this time.
Dale Guthormsen October 25th, 2007, 08:19 AM Both my cameras need to go out on repairs but can still shoot, so they are going to wait until the uwol 6 is over.
I will go for it, may have to use the old digital 8, but Who Cares!
Meryem Ersoz October 25th, 2007, 08:28 AM that's the mustard, dale! way to go...work that old technology!
and a note to daniel: "i may be in" is not a category! this is the sign-up thread, not the wishy-washy thread. in or out?
cavorting in the wilder-wild and sharing the results with friends from all over the world or sitting at home on the couch eating potato chips and watching Animal Planet....which is it?
Dale Guthormsen October 25th, 2007, 08:30 AM Geir,
I hear you about the new job!! I am in a new position and have to commute too!! I haven't even had time to rake up the leaves in the yard this fall!!! I think everything except uwol 6 will have to wait till spring!!!
take an afternoon and give yourself a break, shoot video, eh?
Russ Holland October 25th, 2007, 10:38 AM Go on then, count me in!
I do hope I can find the time with work, but I definately need to get out and do something, my kit has been wasting away lately.

Geir Inge October 25th, 2007, 04:16 PM Geir,
I hear you about the new job!! I am in a new position and have to commute too!! I haven't even had time to rake up the leaves in the yard this fall!!! I think everything except uwol 6 will have to wait till spring!!!

Hi Dale and Meryem.
And I hear you about the autumn leaves Dale. Great that we're not alone in this world :)
It's 23.50pm over here and I'm at work. Started 19.00pm and will be home tomorrow at 8.30am. These 4 weeks I've had an average sleep of 4.5 h day/night, and tomorrow is my first day off. I'm gonna sleep the whole day through. I'm having fun though, stillI've got some great "pillows" underneath my eyes so I better not narrate in front of camera this time :)
I'm gonna find me a team leader in about two weeks then I'll get a more relaxing time on job.
Uwol#6 will be like salvation for me, and soon it'll be Christmas and my wish this year is a brand new T-shirt :)
All the best
Geir Inge
Catherine Russell October 25th, 2007, 05:15 PM Hmmmmmm ..... Looks like the ladies are a bit under-represented. Meryem, I hope you will be able to contribute this round, we need to balance out all of these guys!
Cat
Meryem Ersoz October 25th, 2007, 06:26 PM perhaps i should take pity on dale and geir and make the theme AUTUMN LEAVES. then they can rake their yards and shoot video at the same time.
nope. this is a Challenge, and i'm keeping it that way! mwahahahahaha.
i am most definitely putting something up this round! i'm intrigued by my own theme!
Kevin Railsback October 25th, 2007, 08:59 PM Does that mean I should go ahead and start my Shark Tank thread now? :)
Markus Nord October 25th, 2007, 11:56 PM Me me me me me me... Pick me!...
Now I got a long distanse lens as well... the old ef 50-200/3.5-4.5 L.
Markus Nord
Trond Saetre October 26th, 2007, 02:07 AM Kevin, it's a bit early to prepair the shark tank yet, don't you think. Besides, the sharks got way too much company last round. They don't need anything until next year!!
I'm sure you will come up with a great video this time! :)
Nice to see we got some new people joining our friendship this round.
But where is young Gabriel hiding? Can't see he's signed up yet.
Hmm, maybe the theme will be "exhausted". naw, would make Dale and Geir instant winners, haha. Don't work too hard guys, you need to have some time for uwol!
Ron Chant October 26th, 2007, 02:25 AM Sign me up for UWOL #6 please
Now there have been, Skies and Recreation, The Wild, Water, and Mammals…… I wonder what could be next, what ever it may be, it‘ll be good to get out and do some.
Brian McKay October 26th, 2007, 08:26 AM Meryem what a wonderful idea.....my so called friend. For me to film a tree or leaf I have to travel 1000 miles due south.....and I thought we were family. I guess I'm the unloved one. LOL
If I can work the next theme I'm going to surprise everyone by showing snow. I know, I know I've never done that before so I thought I'd surprize everyone. LOL
We had our first real snow storm yesterday soooo no need to carry a white balance card anymore.
Looking forward to the theme.
Brian
John Dennis Robertson October 26th, 2007, 09:02 AM Sign me up please
Hot as hell summer here with a bit of rain now and again. As long as the theme has nothing to do with snow I should be ok.
Per Johan Naesje October 26th, 2007, 09:29 AM I'm very happy that I'm just in the middle of you two - Brian and John Dennis ;-)
Meryem Ersoz October 26th, 2007, 11:00 AM can i just say how much i love running an outdoors contest that has to find a theme that can be worked out by both brian in the arctic and john in south africa?? and per, in between...
that is so freaking COOL, you guys, to have the world at our desktop, present and playing....
the good news is, that i'm going for a theme that's sure to piss everyone off, all around the world! that way, i know i'm doing a good job.
they don't call this a Challenge for nothing!
i think i need to start a "Tales of Wonder and Woe" thread right now, before we even post the theme, so that i can weed out all of the idle chit-chat from the actual signer-uppers...(of course, i'm the most guilty party of all, when it comes to idle chatter, mea culpa, mea culpa...)
Trond Saetre October 26th, 2007, 01:30 PM the good news is, that i'm going for a theme that's sure to piss everyone off, all around the world! that way, i know i'm doing a good job.
they don't call this a Challenge for nothing!
Is this when we are supposed to start worrying? ;)
Meryem, you sure know how to make us look forward to November 1st.
Once more you will bring on a great theme and a real challenge for all of us.
Brian McKay October 26th, 2007, 01:51 PM Hmmmm
Excuse
One Camera is broken
Two Busy at work
Three I have the flu
Four I told my wife I'd quit after challenge #5
Come on guys help me out here will ya....she's killing us :)
Brian
D.J. Zupancic October 26th, 2007, 02:38 PM I would like to join in on the last theme. I will not be competing for the prize because of my insider knowledge. But I look forward to being one of the cool participants.
Catherine Russell October 26th, 2007, 02:40 PM Yikes! I think the most challenging part about this challenge is enduring the buildup and suspense concerning this last theme of the year.
Meryem, what ARE you up to? Any hints? How about .... it rhymes with ...
Cato
Trond Saetre October 26th, 2007, 02:46 PM Meryem, what ARE you up to? Any hints? How about .... it rhymes with ...
Sounds like someone is desperately trying to get a clue about the theme, eh?
Well, that makes 2 of us, hahaha. Twisting my brain, not a clue so far.
Kevin Railsback October 26th, 2007, 02:48 PM Yeah, she's scaring the crap out of us and then the theme will be something like "clouds."
That's ok, I have some snazzy new swimmin trunks so I'm all set to take a dive if I have to. :)
I'm assuming Meryem will be out of contact on 11/1 so she won't have to listen to all of us complain? :)
Bob Safay October 26th, 2007, 03:14 PM Hey, has young Gab signed on yet?
Kevin Railsback October 26th, 2007, 08:18 PM Not yet. Haven't seen much of him.
