This head cleaning tape was recommended and I bought it.

Is there a better way to go?

By the way, I should mention that I use Sony tapes excusively.

Seems fine and that's a good price. What tapes do you use to shoot on? I clicked on the "Item Includes" tab and got a chuckle out of the one year warranty! :)

I use this one with my A1.

It's more expensive and I can't say whether or not it's better or worse.

The Panasonic tape is a dry cleaner and the Sony is wet. That is why I asked what you shot on. Generally if you use dry tapes to record, then use dry to clean and visa versa.

The Panasonic tape could be a lot shorter and the could be why it is cheaper too.

I only use Sony tapes as well.
If you use Sony tapes I'd suggest using the Sony head cleaner.
It's the one I use. It does the job well.

I have no basis for my suggestion other than the fact that it seems to make sense.

The Sony cleaning tape is Dry. It's what the "D" stands for.

I use this one.

How can you tell the Sony is a wet cleaner? I can't seem to find info on it. I was under the impression that Sony tape was dry now.

I was under the impression that all the Sony tapes are dry now as well as the Pannys and that the idea of mixing tapes being bad really doesn't apply anymore. That being said, I personally only use one kind of tape.

There was a thread about this a while back, I'll try to do some searching.
